In May 2021, consumer prices increased by 0.5% after 1.1% last month. This increase is mainly explained by the increase in the prices of clothing items by 1.1%, the prices of food by 0.6%, the prices of transport products and services by 0.9% and the prices miscellaneous goods and services by 0.8%

In May 2021, the inflation rate stabilized at 5.0% after rising slightly last month (from 4.8% in March to 5.0% in April). This stability has its origin, on the one hand, in the acceleration in the rate of food price increases (6.0% against 4.9%), and on the other hand in the deceleration in the rate of price increases. other products and services, in particular those of health (7.7% against 8.8%), transport (1.5% against 2.1%) and restaurants and hotels (5.8% against 9, 2%).
